The Josiah Foundation - Where We Work

The Josiah Foundation was established in February, 2007. Thus far we have established supportive relationships with two Christian ministries in Guatemala:

Bethel Ministries, International, a ministry to the poor and disabled http://www.bethelministriesinternational.com/.
Amor del Niño (Love the Child in English), a home that provides comprehensive care and developmental support for abandoned, orphaned, abused, and special needs children in Guatemala . http://www.lovethechild.org/

Foundation President, Dave Penner, is making plans to travel to Nairobi, Kenya in March, 2009. One of the purposes for the trip is explore opportunities to support the ministry of “Life Challenge Africa”, a ministry of SIM with two significant community projects in some of the slum areas of Nairobi. (http://www.lifechallenge.de/) One project, the ARK SCHOOL in Kariobangi, is a community school started in 2000 that serves over 100 children with about 80% coming from Muslim homes. The other project, NEW HOPE, is a project where poor women are taught to sew. The projects are evangelistic in nature to a group consisting largely of Muslims living in poverty
